The Bonnet Guild in Stewarton dates from 1933 when a group of local businessmen joined forces to provide the families and children of the town with a summer, "Gala" day. To this day, the core purpose of the Bonnet Guild remains the same.

A week long programme of fun and games is now organised by the Guild, which includes a fancy dress parade, treasure hunt, kids' party, karaoke and other indoor events, sports competitions, fun events and fun runs.  Each year Stewarton Academy recommends a Corsehill Queen and her Court (from current 2nd year students) to the Bonnet Guild, and the week culminates in the crowning of the Corsehill Queen on Gala day, which is traditionally held on the third Saturday in June.

🌟Stewarton Bonnet Guild Gala Week 2025 will take place between the 14th and 22nd of June with Gala day falling on the 21st.🌟
ℹ️Updates on what's going on throughout our 92nd Gala week will follow around April as event details are finalised.ℹ️

The Bonnet Guild is a non-profit making organisation run by volunteer members. Gala day itself and souvenir programme sales are the main source of fundraising - the proceeds of which go towards funding the following year’s activities.

We are very lucky to get a lot of support from local organisations, clubs, businesses and groups – so if you’ve got an idea or request get in touch!  It’s your community.  It’s your festival.  Get involved!😀
